Bread Knives
A Bread Knife is a knife with a long serrated blade. The serrated edge was invented in 1931 by Franz Güde and is well suited for cutting bread and roast but also bacon, tomatoes and hard fruits such as pineapple.
Serrated knives stay sharp longer because the waves extend the cutting surface and the knife only touches the surface with its pointed teeth when cutting.
