Its "mouth tool" is a drop-point blade made from corrosion-resistant 1.4116 blade steel with a satin finish. The Fire Ant only bares its bite once the flipper is engaged, while the double detent ball mechanism keeps the knife securely open: two balls inside the liners press against the opened blade and only release once the clamping resistance is overcome.
